Can't commit to a year, BECOME A TEMPORARY BOARDER

Our temporary boarding program is like a canine "bed & breakfast" where our dogs-in-training stay in the homes of our preapproved temporary boarders overnight and during weekends.  Occasionally, a dog may need to be placed for a longer period of time to cover illness and/or holidays.

We have no dogs available for adoption at the present time. Please click on this email link to indicate your interest should one come available.

We are trying to give rescue dogs a new lease on life whenever we can as there are many that have a lot to offer.. Since we don't often receive alot of information about them prior to beginning training, sometimes these dogs end up not making it through the training. We do not want to send any of these dogs back to a shelter, so finding them their forever homes is important. If you are interested in adding a new canine to your family, or fostering one until we find its forever home, please email us at the link above.

New Breeding Program

We realize that if we can breed our own puppies from carefully selected parents, there is a higher chance that they will have the personalities required to be successful program candidates. It is with this in mind that Denise purchased a one year old female, registered black Labrador Retriever.....Ebony. Denise will breed her in approximately one year when her body is mature enough and donate the puppies back to Brigadoon. In the mean time, Ebony is learning good manners and some basic obedience. We hope to be able to use her as a demo dog in between litters.
Brigadoon Welcomes Kayce for Her Internship

My name is Kayce Aspen, I am a senior pursuing my Bachelor’s of Science in Birth-12th grade deaf education and my minor in psychology at Barton College in Wilson North Carolina.  My dream has been always to train service dogs for the children I teach and work with.  When I started training dogs under professional trainers my junior year of high school I knew that I was headed in the right direction.  Last year I had successfully worked with a beagle and taught her to sense sugar levels, anxiety, and pain in the body.  Those experiences had been immensely valuable but raw and far from what you could consider exposure to formal techniques in service dog husbandry.  When I came home for the summer, I contacted countless service dog organizations to observe trainers, and none had responded to me, except for Brigadoon. With the director’s help, I am currently working with a dog named Lucy who will go back to school with me in training to be a hearing dog. Once Lucy is trained and I return from school, I'll donate her to Brigadoon. The best of all, Brigadoon is making my dreams a reality; I am learning to train professional grade service dogs for those that need a helping paw.
